Iterate next

This action allows to execute next action in the workflow repeatedly with every element of the specified list.

With every iteration the jetFlow engine will take one element from the given list, fill pattern {PREVIOUS} with value of that element and execute next action. After executing next action the engine will take the next element of the list. So, action will be executed repeatedly until end of the list or the specified limit on iterations will be reached.

Iterate next – workflow for WordPress action

If the specified pattern is a multilevel list, for instance list of posts data, pattern {PREVIOUS} in the next action will be a list too. So, to get a post title from the current element use pattern {PREVIOUS[post_title]}.

You can use this action with any trigger and action that produces a list of items: Bulk action trigger for admin post screens, Get list of posts action to go through of a list of posts, Get list of files to copy it with a File copy action, or work with storage records that retrieved with Lookup record.

Working example is a sitemap created by workflow on the Documentation table of contents page. You can easily import that workflow by using following link on the Tools page: Documentation – table of contents.

P.S. If some list should just be displayed on the web page, probably you want to use less complex action Format list that creates fine view of a list.
